African Inspired

As many of you know, I spent the last year and a half living in Namibia, Africa. While on the continent, I had the opportunity to travel to four other African countries as well. I was always looking for unique materials and beads I could use in my jewelry designs. Below are some examples from my African inspired collection.

Earrings made from recycled paper. I bought these beads from women in Kenya who make and sell these beads as the main source of their income. These beads are beautiful and you would never guess they were made from paper!! These are a popular seller. (Price: $5 a pair)

Long necklace made from the same recycled paper beads from Kenya as mentioned above. This necklace is beautiful worn as one long strand or looped. (Price: $12)

Bracelet made from recycled glass beads from Ghana. Closes with an easy magnetic clasp. (Price: $12)

Above and below: Recycled glass bead (green, blue, or red) on Sterling Silver chain. Chain sizes available: 16", 17", and 18". (Price: $15) A portion of the sales of this particular necklace will go to help educate children in Africa through Family of Hope Services.

The above necklace comes attached to the card below...

Heading back to the States

Most of you have been following along on my regular blog. But if you haven't, let it be known that as of December 15th I'll be back in the States "for good". (Definition: Until God calls me on to somewhere else.) For now, I feel like I'll be stationed back in the States for a while. And I have some big jewelry-making plans.

For starters, I have a goal to set everything up as a legitimate business.... eventually leading to an actual internet store, a shop on Etsy, and more. I'll be expanding my designs with new ideas. I even plan to do other crafts besides jewelry. It will be a great mishmash of really neat do-dads. So I hope you'll stay tuned!! :)

In the meantime, if you're looking for that uber unique Christmas gift idea... how about purchasing a calendar I created? 100% of the sales of the calendar will go towards helping orphans and vulnerable children in Namibia, Africa. This project directly benefits FHS, the place I've been pouring my heart and soul into throughout my 18 months in Namibia. Email me if you're interested, or go to this form to place your order. They are $15 each, plus shipping. We even ship internationally.

NEW!! Mustard seed necklaces

"If you have faith as small as a mustard see, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20

What better reminder of the power of faith then this beautiful necklace made with real mustard seed purchased in the Holy Land!

This current design (above) is $10.00 with free shipping!

Made with real mustard seed from my trip to Israel.
